Turkey Vulture
With a face that only a mother could love, these birds are also known as Turkey Buzzards.
It is unusual to see these birds sitting on a fence. Normally they are on a road picking at a carcass of some unfortunate animal which had been hit by a car. This bird has a huge wingspan, 5 to 6 feet and he rocks side to side when in flight.
Their heads are bare with no feathers to accumulate blood and gore from poking deep into the entrails of a dead deer, cow, or buffalo. Therefore they can be considered to be neat eaters as they enjoy thier carrion!
