Pool Yule

This Christmas morning I splashed out like never before - spending just £4.25 to join the festive throngs at Hampton Outdoor Swimming Pool - open 365 days a year.

Though it had started to thin out a little when I took this post swim shot, several hundred other people had the same idea, so it was all very cosy at times.

It's occasions like this that help keep this great London institution keeping on. And gives Brome somewhere to train for his swim across the St. George's Channel in... oh, I didn't quite catch what year...
