A rather fine vessel
An unusually warm and sunny day in Peterhead. The harbour is home to a fleet of fishing boats, an important fish market and bases for ships operating in the offshore oil fields. This is the Olympic Ares, a 115m long multifunctional subsea support and construction vessel, flagged in Nassau and working in the North Sea for Bibby Offshore.
It has a helicopter landing pad, a 250 ton offshore crane and is stuffed with wonderful technologcal gizmos, including two ROVs (remotely operated underwater vehicles) that can work to a depth of 3000m.
