Coconut

The gorse is in full bloom and in warmer sheltered corners the smell of coconut is wonderfully exotic.

These are at Flotterstone, by the footbridge over the burn on the path up to Turnhouse Hill. We were doing the circuit from Harlaw via Maiden's Cleuch, Flotterstone Reservoir, Turnhouse Hill, Green Cleuch and Black Hill. Disappointingly unsunny and the wind up top pretty bracing, but good to get a stiff walk after a week at the desk.

Hate the scarring and wide path building that seems to be on the increase. Too many of us walkers? Or mountain bikes? There's a debate to set you off for the weekend.
