Live and let live...
Border Collies are herding dogs and most of the time they do not chase wildlife... Today was no exception. Hero was happy to share his dog food with this bird.
Helle and I met this morning to train dogs.
We were done at noon, so we sat down to have lunch and whilst we ate, the dogs were searching for dog food, which we had spread over the field. Searching for food in the grass is good brain/nose exercise for the dogs and it keeps them busy for a long time. As you can see in this picture, the birds were enjoying the easy access to good quality food too.
In the afternoon we had a visit from two ladies, who are interested in a puppy from Jazz' litter next year. It is the same litter as I am having a puppy from. You can read about it here.
It was a good day and I do now have 3 very happy and very tired dogs.
After having been occupied by German troops since 9 April 1940, Denmark became free again on 5 May 1945. When the liberation was announced in the 8.30pm BBC broadcast on 4 May 1945, many Danes spontaneously placed lit candles in their windows. This became a custom that is still kept up by most Danes, so tonight the boys and I will place a lit candle in the window and be grateful that we live in a free country.
See you tomorrow.
