Peregrine
We've had a Medieval weekend in Midhurst, lots of people walking about in costume which was explained in a talk given in the Town Square. Among them was a falconer with this wonderfully handsome bird, a Peregrine. You might not think he looks like one, with his beautiful spots instead of bars, and that's because his handler said he was cross bred, and has 3 different heritages. Why anyone would want to use AI to produce a bird whose parents would not have naturally mated is a bit beyond me. But he is undoubtedly handsome. He didn't like his feet being touched, so he has a lot to get used to if he is going to be used in demonstrations. Meanwhile he was sitting quietly in the graveyard under the shade of a tree and eyeing up these intrusive people with cameras. Remains to be seen if he can breed and produce another hybrid like himself.
Another lovely sunny afternoon.
