National Remembrance of the dead, May 4th
Remembrance of the Dead is held annually on May 4 in the Netherlands. It commemorates all civilians and members of the armed forces of the Kingdom of the Netherlands who have died in wars or peacekeeping missions since the outbreak of World War II.
This year my 2 sons had the opportunity to speak out what freedom means to them. Daan, my youngest, said that freedom is that he can play outside with his brother every day. Bas said that freedom for him is that he has the possibility to sport.
