Finished 'my' bookclub book this morning after a lazy lolling in bed with Ronnie for company and cups of tea periodically provided. What a treat ...

Phew .... an easy page-turner that was thoroughly absorbing but - of course - brought home the waste of so many lives that any war brings but that was so extreme in the First World War. He is a powerful storyteller, no doubt about that. It will be a really interesting bookclub evening ... as ever ... they are a great bunch of friends.
