Wedding photography

I went to the wedding of the daughter of some old friends. It was a a great occasion, but I was surprised to see the bride and groom outdoors, long after the wedding breakfast, having more pictures taken. I wonder if the photography has established itself as a necessary part of the ritual as much as the confetti, the toasts and the speeches.
