Grub's up!

Back at Blackford Pond to catch up with the coots and the other birds. The coot family which we've seen for the last two weeks were being braver again: last week they seemed more cautious after having lost one of the young. We also saw another coot nest and two little grebes, the moorhens are still sitting on the nest as are the swans.

I have to say that I don't think these two young would win any baby beauty contest, but I'm sure their parents love them all the same. Go large for a closer view of them and their bald heads.
