Photographer's advice

Not mine, but that of Tony Ray-Jones, to himself.
Visited the Only In England exhibition at the National Media Museum in Bradford.
"The past is a foreign country...." And never more so than in these photos from the 60s and 70s. And by the look of Tony's pictures, it was a pretty joyless time! I have to admit, although I admired his skill, I much preferred the Martin Parr photos, much warmer, and with real connection to the people and places he photographed. Some genius shots, and a bit of personal interest too, as a friend's husband identified one of his relations in them. Imagine that?

In other news, after yesterday's bike ride, I have treated myself to a new bike (interest free credit - a marvelous thing!) so spent some time in the park this evening trying to get to grips with the fancy gears, scattering rabbits on all sides, out for their suppers.
