London

A fab day in London to see an exhibition of First World War pictures at the National Portrait Gallery, and another of competition-winning photographs at Somerset House.

As an added bonus, there was a large Sikh festival talking place in Trafalgar Square as well. Apparently, it is the 13th year it has been staged in London, though it was the first time I had ever come across it. It did mean that we got a very good lunch at one of the many stand selling amazing smelling (all vegetarian) food.

This photo sums up why I love London - the very traditionally British image of Nelson, with a large multi-cultural, colourful gathering meeting in front of it, complete with big stage and loud music. (Not that you can hear the music in the photograph, obviously.)
