Harbinger

These magnificent palm trees are a mixed blessing.

From our bed, we can see the sun lighting them up as it rises on the other side of the house. Then we know if it is going to be a good day.

We get blissful shade while in the garden during the hottest part of the afternoon.

But they drop all sorts of stuff all over the terrace and the roof, which means a daily sweeping is necessary to keep them looking tidy.

And in very strong winds, I am fearful that one might join us in the bedroom and make rather a mess of everything.

But this morning, their reflection beamed out of the table top, as though I was looking at an HD TV screen. A sign of a fine day to come and perhaps all the way to the weekend.
