Male fern

Dryopteris filix-max. This is one of our commonest native ferns and seems very happy growing in the wall and the bank at the top of the lane.
Apparently, until recently, the root was used medication designed to encourage the body to expel tapeworms... Less toxic and more effective drugs have now been designed.
