NOT The Grand Départ.....

Yorkshire has been chosen to host the first part of the Tour de France this year...The Grand Départ. Promotion is everywhere and we face the prospect of a few days of disruption on the roads as the promised throngs gather.

This isn't it - but is the Tadcaster Triathlon (not a full length one). The cycle route came through our village and included one of the steepest hills in the area. I set my camera on the tripod and waited.

And yes the camera was level - that is the hill! Lots of puffing and panting and exclamation about how jolly hard it was.

I tried some slower shutter speeds - quite like the effect it has had on the spokes on the front wheel.
