Not a Capercaillie

Though I did see one, as a little black blob with red and white bits, through someone else's spotting scope, after I'd got up at 4.40am to head to a Caper Watch at the Loch Garten RSPB place.

Just liked this peaceful loch view.

Back in Edinburgh now - at least there's another day off work, and if the weather plays ball a walk at Hopes Reservoir where the Cuckoos should have arrived by now. And I did manage to get out for a little 12 mile play on the bike in the afternoon as well - but now time to put my new Japanese cookbook and Japanese omelette pan to the test, as well as finding a cocktail from my new Difford's Encyclopaedia to try...

I do like birthdays...
