Step 1

The sewing machine has been in the house for a least a year. I've had fabric for almost that long but it's still never seen action. So step 1 today was to clear enough space on the dining room table, ask K to bring it downstairs for me* and get it set up. I even went as far as a test run of straight and zigzag stitching just to make sure I could remember how to use the thing.


Tomorrow I may even make something. The eagle-eyed will spot the major flaw in our dining room. Sod all light. Oh well.

* I know, I know, pathetic but it's almost as old as me and not far off as heavy. With my record on those stairs I was taking no chances.
