Oh I do like to be beside the seaside
Beach huts are "so British" as the French say. Their charm is irresistible; I took dozens of photos of them, with a plan of making a collage. A chilled-out day today. H and R don't need a beach hut because they live almost literally on the beach, with only the sea wall between them and it. Friends called round for chat and lunch, and then we all went and sat on the beach in the afternoon sun, with cakes and repeatedly replenished pots of tea. It looked warm and there were lots of people about, but we were glad of the shelter of the breakwater to keep the chill off. I went for a blipstroll and along the rows of huts people were reading papers, listening to the radio, drinking tea or glasses of wine. Some were even swimming (in wetsuits!). All very civilised except for the loud gangsta rap party being held in one hut. The huts around it were all deserted for some reason.
You can get beautiful views of sunsets over the estuary from H and R's house, but it wasn't particularly spectacular this evening. Still, the boats coming into the beach looked picturesque as did the family group lighting a fire on the beach as the sun set.
