Bank Holiday
I hope everyone who has a public holiday today has had a good one.
After spending yesterday planting our new purchases, today was spent with the outlaws weeding, digging, dividing, planting and watering. We removed a leggy hebe and replaced it with an ice plant. We lifted a large bergenia, making an extra 8 plants (we could have made at least another 15-20) and replanted the plantlets in various other places. We lifted 2 large clumps of grasses and did the same. Then we planted 2 astrantias (1 ruby wedding, a gift for the outlaws from us as they celebrate 40 yrs in September), an orange geum, divided and replanted clumps of hardy geraniums and planted a lavender. We also divided an iris and planted a euphorbia and a couple of penstemons. There were some snowdrops to plant and then we came home and planted some grasses and whitebells in our own garden that we had left over from theirs.
Returning to the outlaws, we were able to sit and relax in the garden, joined by the rest of the family for a BBQ. A good day.
