Lilac Wall

Second day of the Mayday bank holiday. During the afternoon watched around four swallows, returned and (thankfully) full of energy, swooping low at impossible angles; a pleasure to watch. The late afternoon and evening also saw the welcome return of a song thrush, singing loud enough to make your ear drums complain. As a teenager I would never have been able to stand this close to a wall of lilac for any length of time; sneezing and watery eyes would ensue.
