Lily Beetle

I can almost hear my mum gasping as she reads this ...

I found this lily beetle chomping away at Dawn's lilies earlier today. Now I know I should have chucked if off there and and probably squished it as a pest, but I can't bring myself to do it. Besides I have a number of House Sparrows visiting the rose bush above this lily picking off the aphids, they may find them and feed this years chicks. Let nature takes it course I say.

I took a few others, I'd forgotten how bloody hard it is taking pictures of little bugs ... they are not brilliant, but here they are.
