A slice of Lesley's life

This is the view from the front of our friends' house. Quite a change from the London view they left behind. An earlier night and a good sleep and we were back for breakfast before sweeping up the kids and all the stuff they had sprawled everywhere. Tore Jackson away from a game of rugby he was playing with his friend Ollie against their two dogs, who apparently had scored two tries already.

The main reason for our trip was to visit Ollie who Jackson has been friends with for more than half his life. They were in the same class from nursery until Ollie moved away last year at the end of year 4. They FaceTime quite a bit and Ollie has been down a few times as his grandparents live in London but this has been our first visit to him in his new home. We weren't just going for Ollie and Jackson and we all had a fabulous time too but it was lovely to see them hanging out together.

Broke the journey home with a lovely lunch stop at my folks' house with my brother and his family. Unexpected bonus of seeing all my nieces, especially the two who are mostly heads in books revising for GCSE's and A-Levels at the moment.

Last leg home was confusingly pretty good. Early nights for the kids and a bit of Bear Grylls for us to prepare for our next trip out of civilisation ;-)
