The clue is in the title.
After a fairly relaxing Christmas and a trip to the sales yesterday, we met the extended family at what Flick had billed as a nice Italian restaurant in Covent Garden.
I suppose I should have suspected that I wasn't going to get a plateful of spaghetti carbonara when she gave me the directions to the Cafe Rouge - however the onion soup was very nice.
My brother in law was there sporting a new Nikon 5000 which was very nice to handle - and I was quite impressed with the swivelly screen. Most of the meal was taken up with all the members of the family taking turns of flick's lensbaby in an attempt to get at least a bit of a picture in focus. After about 4 bottles of wine someone got one in focus so we celebrated with another bottle of wine.
We later went over to Trafalgar Square along with 90% of the UK tourist industry to have a look at the Christmas tree. Along the way, one of our party went in to a shop to buy a heavily discounted artist's easel. Where else but London can you buy an easel at half past six on a Sunday night?
We all froze to death on account of the unforecasted bitter wind getting into our bits so were quite pleased to get back into the car and go home.
