A visitor

This quite large guy (or gal) was in our garden this morning.
We also found lizards galore, earwigs, hummingbirds and ants.
We also found something which I hope after reading a lot of articles was a lizard skin shed - my first thoughts on finding it were to back away quickly in case it was a snake shed (we do live in So Cal after all!).
Anyway after a morning of paddling pool for my daughter and chopping down the remnants of an olive tree for me, we had a gentle afternoon building Lego - Except not really Lego, more on that another day! Just for today - there's a good reason Lego is so expensive and the other brands are cheaper.
