Seeing some M8s
Popped over to see some friends in Harthill last night. Half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh and right next to the M8 it's claim to fame is that it was the location of Scotland's first ever motorway service station. Many a lorry and van full has mysteriously 'disappeared' around this place...
We had a good night with good food, good drink and good company, and the wheels were still on the car when we woke this morning. ;-)
Bit of a scary drive there and back as the roads were pretty treacherous with the snow and ice. The snow was a lot deeper over there than at home and the temperature was reading -7 degrees when we left to come home this morning, even under the lovely bright blue skies and winter sunshine. Some poor unfortunate didn't have much luck though as we passed a car lying upside down in a field just along the road a bit; hopefully no-one badly hurt there and a reminder to take it a bit easy on the drive back.
