Crazy Monaco

We stayed at quiet little resort west of Cannes and caught the train today firstly to Monaco then back to Nice.

This post shows the sleek chic buildings and boats all crammed in to a small area. The fact that the town was preparing itself for the Grand Prix on 22 May just added to the craziness of the place. I was very tempted to put another photo showing some of the GP stands, chicanes and overhead gantries, with a Petit tourist train and a shiny red Ferrari sports car looking like they were racing each other!

Our memories of Nice are slightly tainted by a powerful wind hitting the town just as we finished lunch sending parasols flying, overturning tables with plates and glasses smashing and...... knocking out the power lines for our return train back to Agay. It was a long wait at Nice before they started running again and even then we weren't able to get back to where we wanted and so had an interesting, but expensive, taxi ride hearing all about the film festival which also happens in May.
