Morning Commute

Today I'm going to take a break from writing about my day and instead say a massive HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Mum, Gayle.

As the years go on I appreciate her more and more every single day. During my studies while becoming a teacher and observations I have made of adolescents that clearly don't have very good role models, basic manners or respect for themselves I realise more and more how fundamental parents are in a person's development. My mum did a great deal of raising my sister and I by herself and I can't thank her enough for the times she was hard on us to teach us the appropriate way to act around others and the high expectations she had which made us always strive to be better and not settle for failure or mediocrity.

Her love, support and guidance have helped shape the person I am today, and I can't wait until August when we'll have the chance to travel Europe together and make some amazing memories.
