Rainy Days

Well, my ferals were definitely a little better today. They weren't great, but I spoke to them about behaviour and boundaries and in general they we're much better than last week, which I was happy about.

The day was still pretty stressful.

Basically, I've walked into a situation where the kids have had about 6 teachers throughout the year so have not had consistency, have missed certain topics and assessments and are now meant to be revising for exams that they are all convinced they are going o fail. And basically, it's my job to try and pick up the pieces.

At the same time that I feel sorry for some of the good kids, there are others I know have probably just done nothing all year and are now looking for an excuse to justify doing poorly.

It's a bit frustrating not knowing the kids, or the system and trying to fix what I'm pretty sure is an unfixable situation. I just want their first exams to be over so I can start fresh with them on the next stage of course work.
