Etty commented about yesterday's blip "So many blooms, is this usual for this plant?" She may not be familiar with the Saguaro Cactus, whose blossom is the State Wildflower of Arizona.

Wikipedia has an extensive writeup on Saguaro. One fact that I just learned is that a Saguaro without arms is called a Spear. The name came into the English language through the Spanish language, originating in the Mayo language.

This specimen, at 14 feet, is very fat indicating that it is being watered in our neighbors yard. The outer surface is corrugated like a bellows that expands when full of water and contracts in a drought.
