Weeding

In two sessions at the allotment I cleared this small patch of weeds (mainly very entrenched couch grass) - two wheelbarrows' worth. In the newly dug bit closest to the bottom of the photo I planted out spinach beet seedlings - they were tough as old boots last year, so hopefully we'll have another bumper crop this year. In the newly dug bit towards the top of the picture I found a couple of what look like onions growing, I've no idea where they've come from - I sowed some onion seeds last year that did absolutely nothing, but not in this spot, and these didn't appear last year so couldn't have been a remnant from the previous plot holder. I'd better keep an eye on them - maybe alien invaders?
