Coniston Kayaks
We went to the Lake District for the May Day weekend. The main reason was three orienteering events in the southern part of the lakes. We stayed at a great campsite near Cartmel, Greaves Farm; it was quiet and had loads of space in each pitch. As the weather was good we went to Coniston to climb a Marylyn, Top o' Selside. There were drifts of bluebells and great views to the Coniston Fells and the central Lake District. We had the place to ourselves and it made a pleasant stroll. The blip was taken at the shore looking towards Dow Crag on the left and Coniston Old Man in the centre. There were a couple of kayakers and it looked a wonderfully peaceful way to see the loch.
