Shopping for nest materials
Sorry, changed the photo, I just loved the look on Mrs. Oriole's face as she surveyed the goods offered in the tree.
The Baltimore Orioles are very busy this morning collecting vines and fibers for their hanging basket nest. Their orange feathers amaze against the blue sky.
Purple Finch in the sun.
I'm not happy having finally seen what has been rustling around in the small vestibule where our loft stairs are. That area is part of our attached barn. Two baby red squirrels. We have to find out how their mother( Ruby) is getting into the barn, block that off and trap them in our humane trap...or hire someone to do it. Raspberry can hear them through the door .
Old home ownership in the country, ugh!
We were out late at the annual Town Meeting. Democracy prevailed. Round two tonight.
For the Record,
This day came in bright and sunny. It's overcast now, but not raining yet. The blackflies have arrived.
All hands better
Hazel, our wild turkey takes a sip
