Green Gleam

The utility room was being fitted today, so I needed to be around for any snags or decisions - there were a few minor ones of each - but at the same time not get under people's feet, so I was glad to get out for an hour at the end of the afternoon.
I mentioned a week or two ago that I'd spotted a couple of Green Tiger Beetles up on my patch, so I set off to see if I could find them. I've found a little spot just off the beaten track where it's nice to sit and watch wildlife undisturbed. I'd been there only a minute when the Willow Warbler from last time came and serenaded me, and only another minute more before the beetle in question came and sat next to me. He stayed obligingly still for a couple of minutes so I was able to edge closer. I couldn't get round to the front to get a shot of his fearsome jaws, but something tells me it won't be the last time I'll see him.
