Rope & Rust
Before tea, I drove out to Pigeon House Road with Lola. I pulled in to the Hammond Lane dock on the way and found that huge bulk cargo vessel, Puffin, still in port. I'd noticed it a few days ago, but it was during working hours and very busy with big trucks and cranes. This time it was mostly deserted so I took a few shots of the side, which is often a large ship's equivalent to a person's face: bashes, grindings, scrapings, rust... all testament to the aging process, a colourful map of events. Perfect for abstracts of course. All you need is an eye for which marks work together.
Afterwards I went to The Shelly Beds and watched the kite-surfers. And I set Lola free and threw balls for her on the bit of beach that was dry. Quite a big bit really, especially when I came back and realised I'd lost my car keys. Luckily, I found them only a few yards away when I retraced my steps. Sky was altering rapidly, opening a large patch of this-could-be-our-summer blue.
