Mince Pie Special
We used to take my lad's on pre Christmas Santa Steam train Specials but the have out grown them. So now we go on post Christmas Mince Pie specials instead. We drove down to Llangollen and took the train. There had been a severe frost making it all white wonderful. It was just brilliant with a mince pie and glass of sherry as part of the trip. We then took a walk up to the Castle Dinas Bran and along the Llangollen canal.
For the steam train nuts the engine was a 1944 derby built black five. My uncle used to drive them on the West coast main line right up to the end of the steam age and one of my earliest memories when I was 3 or 4 was watching them on the line near our house with my grandad.
