Snarky Puppy, The Scala, London.
I arrived back in London today with no plans for this evening at all.
At lunchtime I looked at Facebook and found that Snarky Puppy had just released another 40 tickets for their sold out show in The Scala, near Kings Cross. Two minutes later I had one of the briefs bought.
Working away from home had meant that I'd missed the band in Glasgow last week so this was a real result and after work and a quick change I headed over to this initimate little 850 seater venue.
The band, as always, were knockout. They play their own brand of jazzy improvised funk! Don't ask. This picture features about half the band. My proximity to the stage meant I couldn't get one photograph with the whole band so I missed the percussionist, the horns and other keyboard player.
It was a great gig. They're back in The Scala tomorrow night so I wouldn't rule out another 40 tickets being released around midday tomorrow!
Get in there! You know you want to....?
