Pavo Cristatus

The male bird of the blue peafowl. They are noted for their fabulous display of 200 brilliantly coloured feathers, which are extended in a fan shape around the body and used in courtship. Seems like a lot of faffing to me, but I guess it works.

Went to Knowsley Safari Park today for our family adventure. Spoilt for choice on the blip front as we encountered a lion in the road, a couple of baboons on the car roof and trio of white rhino. It still amazes me in this world of Health & Safety madness that you are allowed to fill your car with kids and drive through the middle of a lion enclosure.
