Flowers that bloom in the spring, tra-la!

This morning R and I left to spend a couple of days in his home town, in the north of the country.

We went for a lovely walk along a river, saw newly-shorn sheep, ducklings and baby coots.
We then spent the afternoon sitting in the sunshine watching the Bloemencorso (Flower procession) go past. This was just one of the many colourful floats that took part.

This evening we went to a BBQ at our friends' home, vegetarians were well-catered for, lots of home-grown herbs were used, and it was delicious!
