The rest of my life
Today started very early by catching the 6:40 bus to the eye hospital for an arranged cataract operation. The entrance door is my blip because it was the last thing I saw with both eyes. I now have a patch over the operated eye and my vision is mono for a while. The experience today was not good, I would never choose to be awake again! The team who operated and the staff were very professional and took very good care of me. Just like the previous op I was the first patient of the day and became involved in their TIBs (which is a team information sharing session so that all the team know what they are doing) something we do at my office, ha.
I was also impressed with the surroundings and had a wry smile when the H&S and cleaning inspector came into my room. He confirmed it was a weekly visit and proceeded with his tour ( something else I do at work, ha.
Ryan was brilliant and supported me like only a loving son can. He was second to none today and I will miss him so much when he moves out.
We have spent the whole time together although some of it I have been asleep or dosing but my every need has been catered for (including treats) to raise my spirits. He has helped me with replying to messages & emails. What a star!
The eye patch will come off tomorrow and the hospital technician will ring for an update...
Hope you had a better day although I can't complain and can now sigh a relief it's over.
