Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Had a little trip down to Stratford today. After visiting the cathedral of shopping (aka Westfield), we wandered into the recently opened Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The Olympic stadium can be seen although a little bit reduced in height since it's glory days of London 2012.

We enjoyed a visit to the basketball arena during the Olympics. Three of us also had a great morning in the stadium watching the Paralympics. Don't think youngest has forgiven us for making her go to school that day and so missed out. She wants hubby to take her to the Rugby World Cup next year, so desperate is she to visit the stadium. Eldest wants to go too. She also missed out - such bad parents!

The ArcelorMittal Orbit is the structure on the left. No doubt there are amazing views across London from up there but I'm afraid all I see from ground level is what looks like an unfinished, giant helter skelter. Well, that's my opinion for what it's worth!

Then it rained :(

So we came home :)
