To boldy go.....

Had to go into Reading this morning to visit London Camera Exhange. I say had to, but infact I came home with nothing. I am in a state of confusion about whether or not I NEED a filter system for my wide angle lens. I have a Cokin polariser, which fits my 18-250 lens but nothing for my 10-20mm. Do I also NEED graduated filters?

We are off to Sicily soon, so are expecting bright conditions. Anyone got any advice?
