Gunnera Manicata

or the 'giant rhubarb' is just sprouting spiny leaf stalks from it's furry rhizomes in the garden. This dramatic herbaceous plant originates from Brazil and has an almost primeval feel about it! It took years to settle down in my garden so it is always good to see it shoot again in Spring.
