We visited the Colosseum in between work today. Such an outstanding piece of historicity. We ate ice-cream, bought some presents for our precious children and then sat in a local restaurant and had a drink. Beautiful sunshine this evening on the balcony.

The boyfriend is writing his paper for the conference. We've both worked hard recently. When you hit a wall, you need somebody to step outside of that circle and tell you that it is round. There's nothing more satisfying than editing your partner's hard-earned work. We sat together and I edited a problematic section of his work for him; the solidarity and camaraderie which emerges from this symbiotic process is priceless. He deserves a beer now. And a cuddle.
