BOOKS, BOOKS AND MORE BOOKS!

I know we all say it, but it's amazing the contacts we make once we start blipping!

When I mentioned to our lovely hostess, Tinkerbelle, before we came over to Guernsey, that Mr. HCB was interested in Channel Islands books, she told us that another blipper, and a good friend of hers, AllSorts12, sold books on Amazon - so we arranged to meet up so that he could see what she had for sale.

When we arrived at her house, she very kindly provided tea and cakes and Mr. HCB's eyes lit up - not only at the thought of that, but also because of the great array of books set out on the desk.

So here is Mr. HCB, smiling broadly as he knows that he will soon be the proud owner of some pre-loved books - it's a good job we came over on the ferry, as he would be well over his baggage allowance if we had flown - and of course, he had that in mind when he said he would rather bring the car.

So thank you, AllSorts12 - not only for the coffee (I don't drink tea) but also the delicious cake, the chat and the books - this may not be the last time you see Mr. HCB!

This is a great quote for Mr. HCB - but of course, as well as a garden and a library, perhaps this quote should also say "a good game of cricket", but I guess cricket wasn't around in 106 BC!!
