Snowy Cyclops
Cyclops and I have had a funny year, as in January Cyclops went to live in the USA for seven months, spending time at business school in Boston and then a placement near San Fancisco. After another placement in Edinburgh, Cyclops finally graduated as a Saltire Fellow in early December.
As a bit of a consolation to me for putting up with Cyclops's galivanting, we decided to have a couple of nights away from it all over Christmas at Balbirnie House Hotel in Fife, where we got married almost five years ago.
It was absolutely wonderful, staying in a luxurious room and having absolutely nothing to do but eat amazing food and walk in the grounds.
When we arrived there was a good few of inches of snow, and we took a walk around sunset and had such fun playing like kids - kicking the snow about, and writing messages and making patterns in it.
Afternoon tea was provided (mmm, meringues) and a four course dinner with champagne and canapes in the evening.
What a lovely, relaxing treat for us after a difficult year.
