Don't say that!

It happens so often that I put on (?) one eye lens and coming out in the street I realize that I see only with one eye and return home... Same thing this morning. A neighbour looked surprised when I take the other way with the elevator. I explained myself "As always I forgot.."
Don't say that he says very gently, say only "I forgot"!
