The Farmhouse
This farmhouse appears to have been built in the mid-18th century, with 2 storey and 1 storey extensions in the 19th century. I'm not sure when it was last occupied, maybe pre-1980s, but we've seen how it has changed in the last 19 years of living here.
Being an historic listed building, I am sure it has always been too expensive to restore yet protected from demolition and replacement. It seems a confusing state to be in, as if the only option is to wait until it collapses. Why does it remain listed?
It's fascinating to see nature devour the building, from inside and out - I don't think there are any floors left. Weather and vegetation taking control. It's probably got a few more decades left.. at least the cows here get a decent windbreak!
