After The Rain
The weather forecast for today was very accurate. Heavy rain in the morning, easing in the afternoon to give showers and stopping in the evening with brief sunny spells (very brief!). Exactly what happened.
It was a day of transporting people - son to the dentist this morning, getting back from that to a quick lunch and then transporting Mother-in-Law to the hospital for her monthly eye check (good news - they have stabilised, so she can go to the opticians to see about a pair of glasses). Take Mother-in-law home, wait there for daughter to finish her shift and arrive for a lift home. Get home, have tea, take daughter to ballet session, wait for her to finish and then home to download and edit pictures taken earlier.
When we got back in the afternoon, the rain had stopped, so I got the plastic sheet out and lay down near the rockery. The rain had left everything covered in droplets, so I spent the next twenty minutes photographing bluebells and herb roberts, trying to catch the colours and water droplets.
The bluebells are all out and look spectactular, especially with the red of the rhododendrons looming over them. I particularly love the garden at this time of year. It is just at its best.
