Change of use.
When I was a boy, I would come here to watch fishermen unloading their catch from trawlers. It was a noisy, busy, smelly place, but full of life. And death; some of the trawler men didn't come home from the sea.
Now, more than half a century later, it has been gentrified. No smells, no life, no noise - just rich boys' toys. I don't mind. Not envious or jealous. I just wish they'd use them. A steak sandwich tastes so much better when eaten at a live performance. Chips, dunked in brown sauce have more flavour. HMS Troutbridge - the perfect dinner companion.
