Creative chefs, and the restaurant that let them

We took a family trip today down to Troon Beach. The kids took their scooters, the dog played in the sand, we had ice cream... and the wind blew yesterday's golfing hangover away.

We stopped for lunch at a restaurant called Lido. This was a great establishment who really knew how to mix high quality decor/ food/clientele, and satisfy the needs of children.

1, Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive staff.

2, They put the families in nice circular booths around the outside of the restaurant. The kids have a view, so then don't want to walk around their restaurant.

3, They do parent friendly things like remove the appropriate wine glasses, replacing them with colouring pencils and menus to draw on.

4,Apple/ Orange juice and milk in kids size cups at kids prices. I don't mind paying whatever the price is for my own drinks, but hate paying £2 for a Schweppes mixer sized bottle of orange with a straw that they finish in seconds.

5, And best of all, they brought the rolled out dough, cheese, ham, and sauce separately to the table so they could construct their own pizza.

Nice one Lido!
